How I listen
So you know my bias before you read my verdicts.
- 01
I test blind when I can
I blind-tested the JCALLY JM12 against the JM6 Pro and picked the JM6 Pro every time. That's the dongle I use for everything here.
- 02
My preference
I like controlled bass and smooth treble. When a set leans heavy in the low end or gets harsh up top, I say so.
- 03
Long-term, not first-hour
My oldest pair, a Tin HiFi T2, is about nine years old and still working, so I can speak to how IEMs hold up over time.

How scoring works
Six sub-scores · 0–10 in half steps
- Bass
- Quantity and control of the low end. Punchy, extended bass that stays out of the mids scores higher.
- Mids / Vocals
- How natural and present voices and instruments sound.
- Treble
- Detail and air without harshness. I prefer smooth treble, so sets that run hot score lower.
- Detail & stage
- How much detail comes through, how precisely instruments are placed, and how wide and deep the stage feels.
- Build
- Shells, cable, connector and fit, plus how the set holds up over time.
- Value
- What you get for the price, compared with other sets in the same bracket.
- Overall
- The average of the six sub-scores, rounded to one decimal. It's calculated, never adjusted by hand. Sub-scores under 5 show in red.
